I honestly think "oh we can take a ship to a planet's moon" is a huge leap to "they can fly us home." To begin with, it's probably a matter of dimensional transportation - way beyond a matter of sheer distance, which is already daunting. If you think there aren't limits then you're obviously overestimating them.
