[It's late at night, late enough when most people are asleep. Alexei is one of those people...or well, was. His journal had been placed aside, but it can still pick up sounds. Roughly it picks up someone violently waking up. Alexei found himself wandering into memories he didn't like to recall. They were quick flashes, but his moments before, during and after his death were continually bombarding him. Not exactly a very happy dream. So rather then roll over and just go back to bed, he's going stay awake for a while, maybe distract himself by looking through the journal.

It's been strangely quiet here in apartment 15 of CB1. It now lacked one occupant that used to reside in the room next to Alexei. It's a sickening remainder that staying here was still only temporary. Maybe that's why his own death was haunting him tonight. And now Casey was truly lost to history again. Not exactly a major loss when she had been dead for ten years to him. Reminiscing about the past seems to have become regular occurrence for him now. Being stuck in one place and not even having a job to keep oneself busy can lead a mind astray. Especially right now...when he has no other direction laid out for him but death the moment he leaves. He closes his journal. Listening to others has even lost it's charm.

He needed to find something else to get his thoughts together, find somewhere to go. Out of this apartment...or maybe even out of the village itself. Yes, just for a few days he'll get out of this stuffy village and explore the terrain outside. He hasn't quite done that yet, anything to keep him from sitting around right now. It just left him feeling anxious. Right, so that's the plan, prep for the trip and then leave when he's ready, most likely for the mountains and beyond that. There's only so much of the same forest one can deal with.

It's too late/early to gather supplies, but he puts together anything he would need that he already had. Wasn't much to pack really...and he wanted to get out of the apartment now. There is one place in this village he could go to for a while. He puts on his uniform...but bypasses on getting all of his armor on. He doesn't think he'll be there for very long and it's not worth it. His waist plate, and his sword will do just fine. Once he leaves, he's heading for the mikan orchard. It's been a long time since he was last there, around the time after the family experiment. He finds a spot under a tree and sits. Sure enough, the strange calming effect it had on him happened again, almost meditative.

He takes a deep breath and then pulls his journal out again. The thing he was pondering and about to ask, was more to himself then to anyone in particular.]

What did you strive for back home? Your goals and did you ever achieve them? Anything that you would bet your own life to see happen? ...Or is there something right now that you would give your life up for?

He moves away from the tree, while casting a spell. There will now be fireballs coming at you Namipie. Four of them.]

--Except, well, this isn't his orchard. Although this would be a good chance to see if the trees are just as unnatural as the buildings here and quickly grow back.

Nope, fire leaves too much evidence behind, another time. So forgetting the bird for a moment, he's going to go and deal with putting out this fire. It's actually a nice opportunity to see how well he's has a grasp of filial magic. He draws his sword and rests his hand along the blade. It glisten like it did whenever he was about to use an ice attack, but when Alexei waves his sword in the air, it sends out a water wave instead. It's aim at the fire as he does the same motion again until the fire goes out.]

[Yeaa like to see her try that. Once the fire's down, he glances around for that bird.

Maybe it attacked because he was sitting under the tree where it was nesting. Well, he's not going to let it stop him from relaxing. No, he's just going to find another tree to sit under. Take that, bird.]

[There's that flapping sound, but it was already too late. He looks up and was only able to avoid a direct hit from the bird. It did get a few strands of his hair and now he's the one glaring at the bird.

[They're not going to make it in time to save you. He stands and quickly gets to her before she can take off again. Soon as he reaches her, he presses a hand down on her.

Maybe this might shut the bird up. Keeping that hand there, he draws up his sword with his free hand and stabs it loudly into the ground next to the bird's neck]

[Great, it's a stupid bird. Ok, you know what, new plan. Let's put away the sword and pick the stupid bird up in both hands and move for the shack that's somewhere in this orchard.

Once he finds it, he's going to find himself an empty crate with a lid to it, a small crate. Once he's got one, keeping a firm grip on the stupid bird, he opens the crate with one hand and then quickly boxes the stupid bird into the crate and shuts the lid. In case it tries to get itself out, Alexei has a hand over the lid so it can't.]
