[Alexei was finally returning from his mission today, unaware of what's been going on the last two weeks he had missed. He knew of a draft, but that was about it.

He'll definitely be asking around what he's missed, but first he's going to go and grab himself a seat at the Good Spirits Bar for a drink. He could use one or two of them right now.

It's there that he'll flip open his journal, vaguely gathering what people were even talking about before closing it. He decides to ask whomever was nearest to him. Could be the bartender or could be just another customer.]

Has anything been happening the last two weeks?

[Once he's had his fill of information-- and a bit of alcohol, he'll go back to the journal again and...start complaining about various things into it.]

You would think that if the Malnosso can manage to take us off this planet, they could get us all home.

Don't you question how they decide who is useless to them though? Who stays? Who is sent home? You think the people incapable of fighting would be sent home, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

I... never thought of it like that. I always just thought they had their own reasons for sending people away.

It's not exactly beneficial for them...unless they have enough manpower to let a few strays off.

Do you know how many people live in this enclosure, Mr. Alexei? An estimate?

If I go by how many homes and community buildings there are, I can say this place can at least hold well over a thousand of us. But since there are vacant spaces, I want to say it's less than a thousand.

[Voice]

That sounds about right. [Hellll no to one thousand. The village would have to be packed if it held that many.] In which case, you're probably right about sparing a few of us... when you take into account at how powerful some of the residents are, then it shouldn't be a problem for the Malnosso.

I know. [Miss Litchi immediately comes to mind. Maybe... Maybe even herself.] ...but in the end, that doesn't matter for them.

...Either way, neither options are as pleasant as the other. Would it be easier just to die or continue living as someone's experiment?
