[Voice] 014 - Backdated to Feb 14th

[So sometime during the meeting (Vesperia Spoilers alert) between Alexei and Raven on Valentine's day, the journal was probably moved by someone during the convo so bits of their conversation plays through the journal]

I will not do that to her! You already proven to be a disappointment and I won't repeat the same process.

Heh, funny you say that. Out of everythin' you've done and planned, turns out I'm the only one that didn't fail or die. How long will it be before you destroy her life? Oooh I give it a month, tops.

[After that, there are sounds of a fight breaking out]

Go on then! Kill me! Like I said before, have fun in the filtered crew!

Who said anything about killing you!? I want you out of this room!

I'm not goin' anywhere till I finish what I came to do!

-!! You wouldn't!

[Annnd there are just sounds of weapons firing and clash. Someone screams during the commotion, but it's going to be some time before the noise finally subsides.]
The moment that girl... the moment that girl does somethin' to anger you... heh... I bet ya'll beat the crap out of her too...

I won't raise my sword against her. I won't let her suffer by my hands like Princess Estellise did!

[There's the sound of the door shutting and then a loud thud. Alexei had collapsed onto the floor]

[He wince. Yes, yes he did, but he'll bare through it. Pain only means he's still alive. There's that signature smirk of his on his face] You can only pretend for so long...

[Going to...rest his eyes now, Raven's last words were still echoing through him]

[Archly] So who's pretending?

[And have a kick to your shin. You know, somewhere you aren't hurt.] Hey. Stay awake.

[lsahgsa ow that still involve movement from his body. Don't mind that he still has his eyes close, he's still talking...sort of] Heh, that kind of hurt.

[meanwhile, Toph barges in on this touching moment.] OKAY, WE'RE HERE. [Stubs her toe on the doorframe and lets out a yelp.] I hate wooden floors.

[Katara steps around Toph, and her hands coat with thick water 'gloves' as she takes in the scene. She swallows at all that blood and moves quickly forward -- she has no idea how strong this part of her bending is going to be here and this is a really lousy way to find out -- but she doesn't hesitate to move forward and kneel down opposite Nami]

Nami, the water needs to touch the wound if it's going to do any good. When I say so, I want you to move the sheet back and shift where you're applying pressure to this point here [She points to a pressure point in his neck] And see if you can shift under him a little to elevate the wound. All right?

Now.

[No, she doesn't wait for an OK. That is a whole freaking lot of blood.]

[She doesn't need to be told twice. Katara clearly has some idea what she's doing. Moving fast, peeling the sheet back and then freeing a hand fast to press to Alexei's neck.]

[That split second change is going to cause a response from Alexei, but he just makes a sound and lets them do their work...he does take notice of what Katara was doing with her hands though.]

So, do you need me to do anything? [I dunno, fetch some drinking water, hold a bloody bandage, feed a lemur. Anything?]

[Hoooo boy, that wound was deep. Katara presses on it hard, forcing the water into his system, sending it through his body and mingling it with his blood, using the water to call to the life in him. The first step would be to determine whether or not she's strong enough to close the wound, or if she should just ice it over until she can get him to a surgery. Just like she'd thought the skill is still there, it's just the power behind it that's lacking...

She almost doesn't hear Toph, she's concentrating so hard.]

I'll let you know.

[The instant Katara doesn't think she can do this, she's going to send Toph to the clinic. But the blood flow is already starting to slow.]

[Whatever Katara was doing, it was helping. He was having an easier time breathing now at least. Even if it's a temporary fix, it still gave a feeling of reassurance that he'll get out of this. He didn't want to die yet.]

[Toph takes a nice calming breath. It's not like she can feel his heartbeat through the wooden floor, and that same issue is keeping her from having any idea of how badly off this guy is. Katara seems so focused and so worried, and nami had mentioned a lot of blood...a whole lot of it. That never meant anything good.

She's edging her way into the room now so as not to block the exit in case they need to leave in a rush.]

[Now that blood loss is not the most immediate problem, Katara is searching for a hold on his veins. Waterbending could encourage the natural process of life and speed up healing, but she had to know how something was supposed to work in order to fix it when it was broken. Fortunately, this is a clear cut problem - all she had to do was close the wound.

Yugoda had eight year olds healing worse injuries on starbass. She could do this.

Katara begins to use the water to push and pull at his veins, encouraging them to close and heal over. It's going to tingle something fierce, but it will feel cool and soothing at the same time. It takes some time, but the veins eventually close over.

Tired, but not done yet, Katara gets to work on closing his skin over the wound as well, just enough to stop the bleeding.]

Don't come too far into the room, Toph. [She's mindful of blood and Toph's bare feet. It's all she says, though; she's switched from watching Alexei to watching Katara, fingers still in place at Alexei's neck.]

[It's...a very odd feeling to say the least. He'd ask her how she was doing that with the water but...well she's working overtime so it probably wasn't the best idea. He'll just have to thank her when he's...not fading in and out of consciousness.]

[She stops a short distance into the room as Nami warns her to go no further.] Is it going to be okay? [This question is directed at Nami, since she figures that Katara's going to be busy focusing on healing.]

[She takes a moment to answer, glancing down at the injury again. The bleeding appears to have ...slowed? Stopped? And the skin is --okay, that's queasy-inducing. Glancing over to Toph instead.]

Yeah, it's going to be okay.

[She's sure of that much.]

[It takes time. But eventually the wound will close, a new layer of fresh skin in place, the beginning of what will be a very faded scar.]

You can let go now, Nami. [Her voice doesn't waver, but it's not exactly full of life. She'd felt stronger after battling the sea serpent.] He's going to be OK.

[And to make sure of it, Katara takes some more water and begins working on his chi pathways to encourage the process along. She begins to speak in a very deliberate, steady tone of voice - both to keep any hint of weariness from showing and to impress upon Nami and... whoever this guy was just how serious her instructions were.] He's not completely healed. He's going to need to rest and eat a lot. I've encouraged the body to heal, and that means he's going to be exhausted and starving.

[He's listening to everything Katara was saying. Just when he was about to try and sit up too. There's a nod from Alexei that he understood...but he's not looking directly at Nami. He...really didn't want to burden her more then he already had.]

[Toph can't really look at Nami, since she's very much blind, so she looks at the wall in the general direction of Nami's voice.] What happened this time? Another demon, or just some new sleazebag off on a rampage?

[That's a good question. She's glad Toph is here, not only to ask it first - Nami's her friend, after all - but because if something happens to them on the way home she is not going to be at her fighting best. She glanced up at Nami's face while she continued to concentrate on finishing up with... whoever it was she was helping.]

[And Nami just closes her eyes for a moment, looking suddenly very tired of the whole thing.]

Personal grudge. It's no threat to anyone else.

...What Nami said. Just a disagreement between me and someone else. [He's...not going to go into too much detail about this with people he doesn't know. If Nami wants to, they can discuss this later, privately]

But...!

[Toph really doesn't like this. Some guy ends up half-dead and needs healing that exhausts Katara, and Nami tells her it's just a personal grudge. But those CAN be a threat to other people. Just because someone wanted that one guy didn't mean they wouldn't get Nami, too. Just listening to that other guy talk made it sound like that. But on the other hand, she trusts Nami enough that she's sure Nami wouldn't let them go unless it was safe for them to. It probably wasn't dangerous for her and Katara.]

...Is he likely to come back? The grudge guy, I mean.

...Most likely. There are still some things that need to be settle between us.
